Hi, everyone! I'm a writer living in Brooklyn. I'm excited to hang out with quirky, friendly people who aren't afraid to have fun! And, of course, to talk about the HP world--I really feel like I've gotten to know Harry and the others over the years.
Hermione, definitely! She's incredibly smart and capable but has intense emotions and cares about social justice... she's a "good girl" with the strength and skill to rebel successfully when necessary, and she stands up for her convictions and those she loves.
I started off slowly (was not highly impressed at first), got more enthusiastic during POA, then fell in love when I read OOTP.
For a long time, it was OOTP: the storyline gets much more "real world" and complex. It feels so true-to-life that the fight against evil involves more bureaucracy and turf wars than black-and-white battle. But HBP increases the depth, and the sheer amount of love and heart in DH is really moving, so I probably have to say my favorite is now DH.
I connect to Hermione the best and find Snape the most interesting. Of all the characters, he's the one with real complexity--the one whose choices were in question, the one who aroused my curiosity and interest.
Ravenclaw, with some Gryffindor leanings
The people are friendly, quirky, interesting, down-to-earth, and totally unafraid to have fun!!! (And, the group is really welcoming to newcomers) Plus, I love the sense of community and love that has grown in this group over time.

"How could I miss my anniversary event with TGTSNBN?"
"So sad... I will be out of town that weekend."
